Do people spend too much money on pets?

In Western countries, people spend a lot of money on their pets. They buy special food for their cats or dogs, buy them toys and often pay high fees for medical treatment. Some people think this is a waste of money and argue that pets are dirty and dangerous.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of having pet? Do people spend too much money on pets?

The pets have a big role in the modern Humen's life. During the wars or disaster the animal rescue and help people. Animal and human ties century-old history. In spite of that
we should not spend a lot of money on cats or docs. In my opinion we have next resons.

Firts of all, everyday thousends of human die of hunger. This money could be spent on food for people. Buy drugs and create basic education.

Second of all, the special food for cats or dogs is a big business which selling dreams. Usual human food are often suitable for animals. Unfortunaly people believe in advertising.

Finally, according to the Bible we have to use animal for improving our daily life. Otherwise, animal use human. I think it is not right.

So, money that use for food or toys must be use increase living conditions of human and them only for pets.
